How to reset your Wear OS wearable to factory settings

In some cases, it may be necessary to reset your wearable to factory settings. This may be because someone else will be using it after you or during troubleshooting. 


  1. Open Settings
  2. Select System
  3. Select Disconnect & reset
  4. Allow the wearable to reboot, it is now ready to pair with the WearOS Mobile App.


If your wearable is frozen or you cannot access Settings, follow these steps:


  1. Power off your wearable by holding the Power button for ~5 seconds and then select the Power off.
  2. With the wearable off, press and hold the Power button and the bottom button for ~10 seconds.

    A text screen will display Fastboot Mode
  3. Short press the Power button to cycle the boot mode until it shows: Recovery Mode.
  4. Long press the Power button for about 2 seconds to select Recovery Mode.
  5. The device will boot in recovery mode.
  6. Swipe down to find Wipe data/factory reset option and swipe left to select the option.
  7. Swipe down to Yes and swipe left to select it.
  8. The watch will show an Erasing Data Screen.
  9. The device will come back to recovery mode.
  10. Swipe left to select Reboot system now to restart the wearable device.


The wearable device is now ready to pair with the WearOS Mobile App.


If you are connecting it back to the same phone, forget the wearable devices from the list of Bluetooth devices before pairing.
